In 2007, the NHS Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Working Group set out to recruit informed and intelligent writers, who knew about being Lesbian, Gay or trans from their personal or professional experience. These writers created a wide selection of Expert views and Guides as well as other information sources for Trans people, their families and their Clinicians. Unfortunately these guides are no longer in print.
As a service to the community, PFC has pulled together all of these guides, below, for you to download directly to your own computer.
There are also links to various resources on web pages, including several very worthwhile videos.
FUNDING: Funding is a key issue for many trans people seeking to access the various stages of NHS services for transition; assessment, hormone therapy and surgical prcedures. There is an excellent guide written by the Gender Identity and Research Society (GIRES) about funding in the NHS , including details of your rights. It is the guide in the top of the left hand column below.
